One of the most popular forms of body hair removal is shaving. It is my main form of hair removal and most effective in my opinion. This is the oldest form of removing body hair. A sharp blade is used to cut the hair at the skin level. People are known to shave their legs, bikini areas, chests, arms, and even their backs. One thing that is very important when shaving is to never do it dry. Even using just water can cause irritation. There are lotions, gels, and creams available to prevent razor burn, irritation, nicks, and cuts. Shaving unfortunately however, must be done either daily or every few days. The risk of irritation and the frequency that shaving require are the only downside of this form of body hair removal.

Another very popular form of body hair removal which I have also tried is waxing. Waxing is when a hot wax is applied to the area where the body hair must be removed. Once applied a strip of cloth or a special paper is applied over the wax. It is then pulled away quickly. This will pull the hair out at skin level, sometimes a bit deeper. There are some things that should be considered when waxing. First, testing a small area of the skin first is necessary. This allows you to check for any type of allergic reaction to the wax as well as making sure that it is not too hot. If the wax is too hot, it can cause a burn. Waxing can be painful especially if being done on a large area of skin. It usually lasts a few weeks. It is safe to wax the legs, back, chest, arms, and bikini area. Waxing can be done either at home or by a professional.

Another excellent form of body hair removal is depilatory creams. I have tried these creams and found that some do work and some do not. These creams are applied to the skin where the hair is to be removed. After leaving the cream on for a certain period of time, usually about ten minutes, it should be wiped off. When the cream is wiped off, the hair is also. One of the downside of depilatory creams is that they tend to smell bad. Even though they have scented creams, there is still the odor. Another problem with these creams is that they can irritate the skin. It is very important for a person to test a small area of the skin before using the depilatory cream. This will allow you to test for irritation on a small area first. These creams can be purchased in your supermarket and in a drug store. They are applied right in the privacy of your own home.

It is simple to remove unwanted body hair right in your own home. After that, you will be able to take off your shirt at the beach and have the smooth legs you always wanted.
